Welcome to the NCMD Lab

About the NCMD Lab

The NCMD Lab is dedicated to understanding the role of nutrition and cellular senescence in chronic metabolic diseases, with a primary focus on obesity, diabetes, and diabetic complications. Using both in vitro (cell-based) and in vivo (animal model) approaches, we investigate how nutrients, metabolic stress, and inflammatory signaling contribute to disease development and progression.

Our research focuses on identifying molecular mechanisms involved in insulin resistance, glucose metabolism, immune dysregulation, and tissue dysfunction associated with metabolic diseases. We integrate multi-omics approaches with experimental models to better understand the interactions between metabolism, inflammation, and aging-related processes.

At the NCMD Lab, we aim to translate mechanistic discoveries into practical strategies for the prevention and management of metabolic diseases. Through nutrition-based and translational research, we seek to develop targeted interventions that improve metabolic health and long-term health outcomes.
